Barb Thumudo

In May 2018, Barb Thumudo found a perfect extension of her career in historic preservation by purchasing Kelmscott Chapel. As the Director of Art & Facilities at the Michigan State Capitol, Barb has spent over two decades overseeing the building's decorative arts, design, and preservation efforts. Her expertise extends to logistics, where she managed hundreds of annual events held within the Capitol and across its grounds.

Combining her professional background with her skills as a Master Gardener, Barb possesses a refined eye for detail and a deep-rooted passion for local history. Alongside her family, she has breathed new life into this Fowlerville landmark. Barb is thrilled to bring her extensive design and event coordination experience to Kelmscott Chapel, helping couples curate and celebrate their most memorable milestones.

A seasoned entrepreneur, Bre brings years of business leadership and creative innovation to Kelmscott Chapel. As the owner of Breezy’s Squeaky Clean Auto Detailing in Howell, she honed a "sharp eye" for detail that translates seamlessly into event management.

A Cleary University graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Bre pairs her strategic background with a welcoming personality that makes every guest feel like family the moment they enter the chapel. Her deep community roots and genuine passion for people make her an invaluable asset in transforming any occasion into an inviting, successful, and polished experience.
